Day 1:

Marrakesh- Essaouira We will pick you up from your accommodation in Marrakech at 8am.

We will drive in the Motor-way which has splendid view of thousands of Argane trees. Arriving to the most beautiful town in the Moroccan Atlantic coasts, a very individual, sea-side town and port.

Mogador as the Portuguese colonization used to call it, Essaouira is many tourists’ Must visit!, it is a charming place, well- known for local handicrafts, especially thuja wood furniture, carving and small artifacts, sold in innumerable shops along the windy streets.

At the sea front, the customer chooses a selection of freshly caught fish to have prepared on the spot.

Essaouira has a favorable micro-climate; mild in winter and cool in summer, although frequently windy, which makes it very popular among surfers.

Day 2: Essaouira – SidiIfni via Agadir, Tiznit .

After breakfast we will leave Essaouira in our way to Sidi Ifni. We will drive by the coastal road south with constant views of the Atlantic Ocean, often battering the rocks and sending up picturesque spray as it beats against them.

We pass Agadir and continue south to Tiznit, the town famous for its silver jewelry. From there we turn toward the sea and take the particularly beautiful coastal road to Sid Ifni.

This is a little neat blue and white town with a distinctly Spanish feel to it.It took its name from a local holy man and was the capital of the Ait Ba’arame tribe famous for its resistance against the Spanish colonization.

Day 3: Sidi Ifni – Tafraoute via Kerdous Pass.

 From Sidi Ifni we turn north again back to Tiznit, where we stop to wander the souks. From there we enter the Anti Atlas mountains, passing Tighmi and the Kerdous pass, then Tizourhane until we reach Tafraoute. This road is one of the most beautiful roads in the Moroccan mountains.

Day 4: Tafraoute – Taroudant

 After breakfast we will visit the famous painted rocks, colored in 1984 by the Belgian artist, Jean Verame. He used 18 tons of blue, pink, red, and black paint, helped in his project by men from the Tafraoute Fire department. This work of art has proved very controversial; people choosing to wonder at it, questioning its existence and to despising it. It is certainly an individual and “other” piece of art. We will continue our way northwards continuing to follow the spectacular road by the Ait Baha river from which the town’s name was derived. Later we turn right toward Taroudant, “the little Marrakesh”, so called for the similarity of its ramparts and town walls to those of the “red city”. Overnight in Taroudant.

Day 5: Taroudant - Chagaga via Kourkouda, Taznakht

 After breakfast we will hit the road toward the desert.

We will cross the two passes of Tizi-nTighatine and Tizi-n-Ikhsane before reaching Kourkouda and Taznakht. This small town is famous for its Berber gelims and carpets. From there we will go deep south and drive into the Sahara across the stony desert, “Erg” and “Hamada” crossing the dried-up Lake Iriqui. We will have Lunch in Chgaga, far away from civilization. From there you take a camel ride and can clamber up to the top of the high dunes to watch the marvelous saharian sunset. At the foot of the dunes, overnight in a bivouac of nomad tents.

Day 6: Chagaga – Ouarzazate via Agdez, Tamnougalte .

 After breakfast in the bivouac, we will drive 60 km of desert off-road to the town of M’hamid.

We will continue to M'Hamid for a visit oasis and last 7 Kasbahs in Draa valley and then have lunch just outside the village before setting off again north up the Dra’a Valley ( the longest river in Morocco 1100km long) toward Zagora. A small town is the largest oasis in the Dra’a Valley which is famous for its dates.

From there we will follow the ancient caravans route, the road passes between the river and the mountains passing all the Kasbahs and the local gardens giving you a clearer impression of life here in this area of Morocco. In Agdez at the head of the Dra'a Valley, you can stop to visit the oldest and most famous kasbah in the valley, Kasbah Tamnougalte. It is still partly inhabited by about eleven families.

We will then continue to Ouarzazate crossing the Tizi-n-Tififte pass, where some scenes from the film "Babel" were shot. Overnight in Ouarzazate

Day 7: Ouarzazate – Marrakesh via Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, Telouet.

 After breakfast we will driver north toward Marrakech, passing by the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, which is the UNESCO World Heritage 1987 and which is also well-known as being the backdrop to many Hollywood blockbusters, such as "Alexander", "the Gladiator", "the Kingdom of Heaven" The road then continues along the Ounila valley with its beautiful and prosperous villages, stunning mountains views, crossing the salt road to the Kasbah of Telouet which once belonged to the notoriously known the Pasha of Marrakech Thami El Galoui. Later we will continue our way to Marrakech crossing Tichka Pass and visiting the Argane Oil co-operative. Drop off in Marrakech.
